Dear Alumni

The Hebrew University, which this year celebrates the 90th anniversary of laying its foundation stone, is reconnecting with its Alumni.  This is not only for social purposes, which of course are important, but also to renew the values and goals that united our students in the past with those of our current and future students.

We want to revive the traditions of the Hebrew University, of which we are all proud, and to ensure that you, the Alumni, will continue to send your children and grandchildren to us in Jerusalem in order to maintain our position of excellence in academic education and research.

You are like a beacon for us. We are asking you to join us because we know that we can learn from you about your experiences and achievements in order to improve our future educational and social activities.  In a world where higher education is competitive and open to all, your knowledge will be very helpful to us and we hope that we can work in partnership together.

You, our UK Alumni, are unique since you are the first alumni association outside the University and the State of Israel, and we salute you for that.  You will be the living example for all our alumni in Israel and around the world.

We want to give you a supportive academic and social place where you are able to keep in touch with your alumni friends; a place where you are able to be updated with the latest scientific news from the University and a place that will give you information about events and activities within a wide range of interests, as well as benefits and services.

We, here in Jerusalem, will do everything we can to help the Alumni Association in the UK so that it will be vibrant and attractive to many alumni.  This will help us all to promote the Hebrew University well into the 21st century.

Best wishes, and next year in Jerusalem.
