IMPH - Introduction

The 12-month English-language International Master of Public Health (IMPH) Program at the Braun School offers a scientifically stimulating and culturally rewarding experience of studying in a foreign country and interacting with peers from different professional and cultural backgrounds, in the unique setting of Jerusalem. Since 1970, our International MPH degree has been awarded to more than 700 graduates from 90 countries in developing and transition regions as well as developed countries of North America and Western Europe. The curriculum is comprised of core courses, elective courses, workshops, and an individually-mentored thesis or master paper.  Professional site-visits, social outings, cultural events, and lectures on current affairs and the history of the region take place throughout the year. Students join in the celebration of local religious festivals. Informal home visits facilitate contact with faculty members and other Israelis.  The IMPH Program provides its trainees with tools for examining public health problems and formulating relevant responses at the community and national level. We work toward helping our students develop knowledge and skills in the following areas:  

  Upon successful completion of the program our graduate will be expected to:  

  Having acquired knowledge and skills in a broad range of public health disciplines, our graduates are prepared to take up key positions as leaders and teachers in their home countries, in areas such as HIV, malaria and tuberculosis prevention and control, prevention and treatment of heart disease, diabetes and other non-communicable diseases, combating malnutrition and tobacco use, injury prevention, and mother and child heath.
