British Friends of the Hebrew University Announces Alan Jacobs as Chair and Isaac Kaye appointed President

British Friends of the Hebrew University (BFHU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Jacobs as its new Chair, succeeding Isaac Kaye who in turn is appointed President.

Alan Jacobs was previously Chairman of the Jewish Chronicle and a trustee of UJIA and UJS. He is currently a trustee of The Jacob Foundation, owner of the Jewish News. He is founder and principal of London based investment and advisory firm, Jacobs Capital. Alan is a Law graduate of Queens’ College, Cambridge and is currently studying part time for a MA in International Conflict Studies at Kings College London.

“Alan brings a wide range of skills and experience to the British Friends, both from the business and community worlds as well as deep personal and family connections to Israel” comments outgoing Chair, Isaac Kaye. “Under Alan’s leadership, BFHU will no doubt continue to build a broad community of Hebrew University supporters committed to Israel’s foremost centre of advanced learning and research”.

Few such organisations have achieved so much and left such an indelible mark on humanity with award-winning research, visionary leadership, excellent Faculty and dedicated students. This is in no small part 2 due to the extraordinary dedication of Isaac Kaye whose support for the Hebrew University spans 7 decades. I know that we will continue to benefit from his unparalleled experience”.

Isaac has been a remarkable and close friend to the University for so long who, I am sure, will continue to be actively involved in his new role as President.
