Chairman, Department of Developmental Biology and Cancer Research the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Faculty of Medicine
Prof Cedar works on DNA methylation, a mechanism that turns genes on and off. It's an important step in understanding human development, and a very important breakthrough in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer and other diseases. Prof. Cedar is an Israel Prize laureate (1999) and has been awarded the Wolf Prize in 2008, the Emet Prize in 2009, the Canada Gairdner International Award in 2011 and the Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize for 2016.
