Stop the Boycott - Introduction

stoptheboycottlogo

On 31st May 2007 members of the Universities and Colleges Union (UCU), Britain's largest higher education union, voted at their annual conference to pursue a boycott of Israel's universities.

UCU's leadership will soon be asking its 120,000 members to vote on whether they back the boycott. As the British Friends of Israel's leading educational institution, we are determined to make sure the vote fails.

Here are some ways you can help stand up for academic freedom and Stop the Boycott:

1. Explore the videos and resources in this section, which show Hebrew University programmes that reach out to Palestians and Jordanians, and Hebrew University success stories.

2. Register your email address here and raise your voice against the boycott. Emailing is the quickest and cheapest method for us to communicate with you.

3. If you are a teacher or researcher in higher education, or you know of others who are, contact us to set up a collaborative project with your co-researchers at the Hebrew University. The more active partnerships we can demonstrate, the easier it is to show the importance of maintaining dialogue. Alternatively, if you are already part of an academic collaboration, please let us know so we may add you to our records.

Thank you for all your support!
