BFHU's Legal Group, chaired by David Pannick QC, organises regular talks and fundraising events around current legal affairs, as well as holding an Annual Dinner celebrating the Lionel Cohen Lecture.
DAVID PANNICK QC, chairman of the BFHU Legal Group, and leading Human Rights barrister, has been appointed to the House of Lords. He has been made a life peer and will sit on the cross benches.
Recognised as one of the “stars at the bar” David Pannick will continue in practice at Blackstone Chambers and on 10th November 2008 will be hosting the British Friends Annual Legal Dinner at Middle Temple Hall.
The speakers at that prestigious event will be Sir Mark Potter, President of the Family Division of the High Court and Sharon Sionov, Director of the Street Law Project at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
We are honoured throughout the year to host professors from the Hebrew University's faculty. All members of the legal profession are welcome to attend our events and join our mailing list.
This year's Legal Group Mission to Jerusalem took place in May and included the 2008 Lionel Cohen Lecture given by Sir Mark Potter, President of the Family Division and Head of Family Justice.
