Shachar Hatan, a Hebrew University alumna originally from Moshav Manot in northern Israel, has been dedicating her life to environmental issues, particularly climate change, for over a decade. Her journey began at the Hebrew University’s Faculty of Agriculture, where she pursued both a BSc and MSc in Environmental Economics. She furthered her studies with an MPhil in Land Economy at Cambridge University and has since resided in the UK. “What motivates me is finding solutions to the climate crisis, bridging the gap between business and the environment, fostering innovation in climate solutions and developing sustainable targets,” says Shachar. “I am also passionate about biodiversity and more.”

Today, Shachar serves as a Product Development Manager at Climate Impact Partners, where she leads the development of emerging climate solutions in carbon markets. Prior to her current role, she worked as a programme manager at Sylvera, where she oversaw the development of frameworks for generating ratings in the voluntary carbon market. “Today I’m implementing many of the topics I studied at university by working in climate tech, driving climate action, connecting businesses with the natural environment and promoting innovation in climate, sustainable development and biodiversity”.

Well done Shachar for your incredible work in tackling climate change and promoting sustainability!
