The late Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks was awarded a posthumous honorary doctorate by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in June in recognition of his lifelong dedication to the Jewish people.
Rabbi Sack’s brother, Eliot Sacks, accepted the award on his behalf, and his wife, Lady Elaine Sacks, was also present at the ceremony.
Rabbi Sacks served as the Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth from 1991 to 2013 and was a visiting professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 1998 to 2004.
