During a brief visit to London, Britain’s Ambassador to Israel, HE Simon Walters CMG met with Trustees and guests of the British Friends of the Hebrew University.
Accompanying the Ambassador were Iris Barner, Country Director of the British Council Israel, and Ravit Capnauer, Head of BIRAX and British Council Partnerships Manager.

The lively chat zeroed in on reigniting academic bridges between the Hebrew University and UK partners, spotlighting successful programmes such as BIRAX and the Wohl Clean Growth Alliance – with ideas flowing on institutional ties, personal connections and showcasing Israeli innovation to UK leaders.
BFHU Chair, Alan Jacobs, offered his words of thanks, “Arriving just months before the war, Simon proved to be the right man for the job – and his energy in rebuilding Anglo-Israeli collaborations promises a bright new chapter for academic partnerships”
