Celebrating 25 Years of Revivim: Inspiring Jewish Studies Educators at The Hebrew University

This year, as The Hebrew University marks its centennial, the celebrated Revivim programme is proud to commemorate 25 years of developing outstanding Jewish Studies educators. Since its founding, Revivim has prepared hundreds of talented graduates who are sharing Jewish heritage and scholarship in classrooms across Israel and beyond.

Although the University’s centennial celebrations were cancelled due to Operation Rising Lion, nearly 200 Revivim graduates and friends were able to gather on Mount Scopus in early July, soon after life returned to normal following the twelve-day war. The anniversary event began with a formal session featuring Prof. Yair Zakovitch, the programme’s founding Dean, Dr. Roni Magidov, a renowned pedagogic mentor, and two graduates—all reflecting on Revivim’s impact over the past 25 years.

Thanks were extended to the many faculty, staff, and steadfast supporters who have made Revivim’s success possible. The day continued with graduate-led workshops on diverse subjects and culminated in dynamic reunions for all twenty-one graduating cohorts. The celebrations were filled with a strong sense of pride, community, and accomplishment.

Looking ahead, the Revivim programme remains committed to educational excellence and innovation—building on a solid foundation, and aiming to further enrich Jewish Studies education in Israel for the next 25 years.
