As part of the centennial celebrations of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel Post has issued a new commemorative stamp marking 100 years since the University’s founding. The stamp was released by Israel Post’s Philatelic Service as part of the official events marking the University’s centenary throughout 2025.

Designed by Studio Mench, a leading Israeli creative agency, the stamp features the iconic amphitheater on the Mount Scopus campus, built on the very site of the University’s opening ceremony in 1925. The design looks out toward the Judean Desert and the Edom Mountains, linking the University’s historic origins to its physical and intellectual landscape.
Over the past century, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has laid the foundations for academic excellence across the humanities and social sciences, the natural sciences, and the exact sciences. Many of Israel’s leading physicians, jurists, economists, and mathematicians are alumni of the University. Today, the Hebrew University is ranked 88th among the world’s top 100 universities according to the Shanghai Ranking.
