On January 21, the Faculty of Humanities inaugurated Where Ideas Begin, an exhibition transforming the entrance into a space for reflection and discovery.

Curated by Dr Michal Mor and inspired by a student’s insight, the exhibition highlights the often-overlooked intellectual richness of the humanities. Initiated by outgoing dean Prof Nissim Otmazgin, it presents a living map of human culture and thought, from ancient civilizations to contemporary questions. As incoming dean Prof Elisheva Baumgarten notes, the corridor invites visitors to pause, reflect, and engage with the creativity and vitality of the humanities.

The Faculty of Humanities at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, founded in 1928,  is a cornerstone of the University’s academic offerings, focusing on the study of human culture and its diversity.
It encompasses a wide range of fields, including Jewish studies, Archeology, Islamic and Middle-Eastern studies, Asian studies, and general humanities such as History, Philosophy, Comparative Religions, Literature, and the Arts. The faculty is dedicated to excellence, creativity, and thorough inquiry into human culture, aiming to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities and richness of human experience.
