The BFHU Legal Group has been in existence since the early 50s and supports the Hebrew University Faculty of Law. It is run by a committee comprising barristers and solicitors and a member of the BFHU team.
The Legal Group organises the annual Lionel Cohen Lecture at the Hebrew University where a prominent UK lawyer is invited to deliver a lecture on a specialist topic.
Previous recent lecturers include Lord Dyson, Sir Christopher Greenwood GBE CMG KC, Professor Philippe Sands KC, Sir Terence Etherton, The Rt Hon Lady Justice Hallett CBE, Sir Stanley Burnton, Baron Grabiner KC, Baron Judge Kt PC, The Rt Hon Lord Neuberger and Baron Collins of Mapesbury PC, FBA, Dame Hazel Genn, and Lady Rose.
The group holds events throughout the year.
The group is chaired by Lord Pannick KC, a leading Public Law and Human Rights barrister and a cross bencher in the House of Lords.
