With unparalleled access and a journalist’s eye for clarity, Lazar Berman will walk us through how the current conflict began, where things stand right now, and what might come next.
He’ll also offer a rare, human look at how ordinary Israelis are living through this moment, and what it means for Jews around the world.
This session includes a live Q&A, so you’ll have the chance to ask your own questions and hear unfiltered answers from someone reporting on the ground.
Presented by The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning.
Lazar Berman is the Diplomatic Correspondent for The Times of Israel, where he covers the war in Gaza and Israel’s ties with the world. He fought in the Gaza Strip in the Khan Younis area as an officer in Division 98, and in peacetime, flies abroad with senior Israeli officials–including the Prime Minister–to cover their meetings with world leaders. Lazar holds an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University.
