- Around 5000 Hebrew University’s students have been called up for military service along with some 350 younger faculty and administration staff
- The start of the new academic year has been delayed to early November
- Two of the University’s 6 campuses, the Faculty of Agriculture, Nutrition & Environment in Rehovot and the Koret Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Bet Dagan lie south of Tel Aviv but have fortunately not experienced any direct hit or injuries

25.10.23: The opening of the academic year has been postponed to 3rd December, although some programs, such as the Rothman International School at the Hebrew University have already begun their academic year using remote learning
